Industrial Design

AND 501 Design Research Methods [2]
In this course, students will learn how to combine the fundamental research process knowledge and methodologies for studying design as research. Thesis writing, design of experiments and review will be conveyed.
AND 502 Design Internship [2]
This course is a replacement class that admit students' internship experience as an academic credit. The value of understanding real industry process will be evaluated as equivalent as course work. It is highly required for students to discuss with the corporation and get the approval from teaching professor in advance regarding on internship time, period, topic and method.
AND 511 Design Project I [3]
This course supports the exploration of engineering, business management, media theory and psychology for a convergent design development with various fields knowledges. It s a combined studio based work and students will be provided with different design topics and process on every year. One course is instructed through team -teaching by more than two professors from different departments. The course builds a flexible and multi-disciplinary curriculum via inter-departments lecture sharing, co-research of relevant fields, mentor program from real industry experts and corporation sponsored project.
AND 512 Design Project II [3]
This course supports the exploration of engineering, business management, media theory and psychology for a convergent design development with various fields knowledges. It s a combined studio based work and students will be provided with different design topics and process on every year. AND 513 Enterprise Establishment & Entrepreneurship [3]
This course aims to study how to create the social values from the point of the entrepreneurship. The creative mind as a possible window to the world and the skills of the value creating ability can be suggested for preparing for the open, unexpected society outside of the school.

AND 521 Korean Color Painting1 [3]
This course will investigate the value of traditional materials and techniques and extend them to the distinctive manner of contemporary art expression. It will explore the origins of Korean color painting and its authenticity.
AND 522 Korean Ink Painting [3]
This course will challenge the conventional way of Korean ink paintings and inspire students to create contemporary style of ink painting.
AND 523 Materials & Technique Study1 [3]
The properties of glue and color material will be explored. Students are required to study the relationship between the physical properties of Korean paintings and its expression.
AND 524 Materials & Technique Study1 [3]
Students will do research on the materials of traditional paintings and understand the technical aspects of them in-depth.

Students will develop their own work thoroughly by studying the relation between individual interests and various theories of modern art.

This course is designed to study different types of materials and concept development searching for possibilities between objectives and conceptual process.

AND 533 Art Property Conservation1 [3]
This course will make a research on the preservation of traditional paintings and paper art work.
AND 535 Art Works & Critical Writing [3]
This course provides a forum for critical writing of individual art works and concepts.
AND 536 Critics on Artwork Processing [3]
The legitimate process of conceptualization and the methods of the individual art works will be studied in the critical perspectives.
AND 537 Oriental Aesthetic & Art Spirit [3]
Oriental Aesthetics have had a profound effect on both of Eastern and Western art. The root of Oriental Aesthetic and its effect will be studied and applied to the art work in creative ways.

This course aims to teach the understanding nature of shapes and images which affect on perceived visual memory. Students are expected to develop the logical principles of product styling through structure of form, shape and aesthetics.
AND 552 Desing Marketing Theory [3]
This course approaches to the general theory of marketing and design strategy establishment process for product design, price policy, distribution and sales promotion.
AND 553 Design Discourse [3]
This course supports the in-depth analysis and discussion about design related socio-cultural contemporary issues such as economy, society and culture.

This course inspires students to study on the theoretical principles of form and develop a form and shape based on creative thinking.
AND 561 Experience Design Methodology [3]
This course introduces sophisticated multi-dimensional methodologies for defining user experience as essential element of design and conveying it to user centered design process.

AND 611 Convergence and Design Project III [3]

This course studies the brand image as a corporation asset and analyzes the role and function of design strategy for successful brand perspective.
AND 612 Product Aesthetics Study [3]
This class will interrogate a product's aesthetic nature in convergence with perceived image, and interpret the target users' emotional preference into visual design languages.
AND 613 Design Management [3]
This course will guide the tools of composition and deployment of human-material resources for efficient design organization and project management.
AND 614 Innovation Workshop [3]
The course is a mix of individual meetings, lecture and workshop for studying the business cases and articulation process to prove the ROI(Return of Innovation) in design.
AND 621 nteraction Prototyping [3]
This course will teach creative hand-on interaction design and development method with a focus on processing various interaction prototyping techniques. Students will be experimenting the actual and physical interactive user experience.
AND 622 Usability Research [3]
This course approaches the systematic process of analysis, experiment and implementation of design usability focussing on verification and improvement of quality of user satisfaction and experience.

This course highlights the relation of design and culture and redefines the new role, function and impact of design as a cultural item.

These Projects will be open every semester(1~4), and will be led by a team instructors. Themes of every project will decided based on instructors'(mostly participating professors) requests. CCD 615 Research And Application Of Age-Friendly Design [3]
Students from divergent fields will learn knowledge and technique for understanding users' behavior pattern and change dependant on aging. The course will be led by team of instructors from design, psychology, medical and engineering. Expected final deliverables are design and development of tangible aging-aid universal devices.

The infinite possibilities of Korean paper will be explored. By understanding the physical properties of Korean paper, students are expected to create unique Korean art.

This course is to study restoration and conservation of paper work and painting. The techniques of repairing will be practiced to learn the proper attitude of craftsmanship.
AND 584 Theory of Korean Art [2]
It is to explore the originality and spontaneity of Korean art through the research related to both of the traditional and contemporary Korean art.

The Eastern Painting Theory has a peculiar theory which is different from the Western Painting Theory. Through it, the ancestral and the universal sense of beauty can be captured and the Eastern aesthetic identity can be obtained.

Korean, Chinese, Japanese art have both of commonness and difference and they influence each other profoundly. The meaning of the creation can be reconsidered through the distinction and the similarity of the East Asian artists.
